NEMA knows how important your four-legged friends are in your life. That is why we have a pet-friendly community. Our Pet Spaw in the valet garage is a place for residents to pamper their pooches with washing and grooming facilities. The NEMA Dog Run on the 11th floor provides a safe space for dogs large and small, to stretch their legs. To celebrate the upcoming National Pet Day on April 11th, we’re focusing our attention to your furry friends and how you can celebrate them:

Have a photoshoot. Take advantage of your glorious City living background and capture your beloved pets. If you hone these tricks of the trade, your canine fashionista may be on their way to becoming Insta-famous. If you’re feeling extra and want to take things to a higher level, you can hire a professional photographer to shoot magazine-worthy shots of your furry pal.

Let them play. SoMa West Dog Park is a pet-friendly recreation area. This funky play area might be small, but it's got some cool graffiti art displayed on the walls. The area is fenced-in, so you can let your pooch run off-leash and socialize with other pups.

Take a Walk. Spring is a beautiful time in the City to get outside and explore a trail, ride a bike, pack a picnic or take a stroll with your pooch. San Francisco has a variety of outdoor destinations for you to get your dose of nature. Here are a few of our favorites, but remember to maintain a safe social distance, wear a mask and be safe.

Treat them. Utilize that beautiful NEMA kitchen and treat your pup with a homemade snack! Bacon makes everything better—even these dog donuts, topped with Greek yogurt and crispy bacon bits. The 3-Ingredient Peanut Butter Banana dog treats are made with old-fashioned rolled oats, natural peanut butter, and banana. Perfect for your pups and human-friendly, too. Want more? Explore these 25 simple dog treat recipes, all made with 5 ingredients or less. Don’t forget your feline friends! Try one of these homemade treats that your cats will love. You can always pop over to The Market and visit their pet section for dog and cat treats as well as wet and dry food.

Pamper your pet. Massage may reduce stress and anxiety, increase circulation, decrease pain, and strengthen the bond between you and your dog. Use these tips to treat Fido to a day at the spa. But if Fido’s not feeling it, try giving a good brushing instead.

Craft a cozy bed. Add a lot of love and little stuffing to create a new comfy spot for your fur baby. Check out these crafty DIY pet bed ideas and get started.
