Celebrate Bay Area music in all its diversity at the 15th San Francisco Music Day at the War Memorial Veterans Building on October 9 from 12pm to 7pm, 0.4 miles from NEMA San Francisco. From chamber music to jazz, contemporary works to global sounds—SF Music Day showcases extraordinary musicians from across the Bay, with music that spans continents and centuries.

Founded 15 years ago, this event celebrates the diverse Bay Area music community and invites local audiences to explore, savor, and experience live music performances at the historic San Francisco War Memorial and Performing Arts Center and includes 4 stages and 27 ensembles.

Each year, InterMusic SF presents SF Music Day, which features dozens of ensembles performing a staggering array of repertoire and styles. Thanks to support from InterMusic SF community partners, SF Music Day has grown and thrived and continues to be a central component of the SF Bay Area performing arts calendar. At InterMusic SF, we rely on generous donations and grant awards from foundations, corporate sponsors, and individuals to produce and present SF Music Day. This support enables InterMusic SF to fulfill its mission of advocating for a thriving musical community of those who create, share, and love the art of collaborative ensemble music.

Del Sol Quartet will be kicking off the Herbst Theatre while the Bertamo Trio performs on the Education Studio. Hailed by Gramophone as “masters of all musical things they survey” and two-time top winner of the Chamber Music America/ASCAP Award for Adventurous Programming, the Del Sol String Quartet is a leading force in 21st century chamber music. The Bertamo Trio is a San Francisco Bay Area-based early music group that brings the music of the Baroque to today’s audiences with professional polish, verve, and precision.

Want to step out for a bite to eat or cocktail during the day? Absinthe Brasserie & Bar a creative menu of French brasserie fare, along with an inspired selection of classic cocktails. The Ginger Rogers is always a refreshing choice with gin, lime, mint, & ginger beer. Hayes Street Grill opened the grill in 1979 to serve dinner before the opera, ballet and symphony, drawing inspiration from old San Francisco grills like Tadich and Sam’s. The menu changes daily and always serves up something fresh. After SF Music Day, head to Uccello Lounge and indulge in live music performed by Conservatory students, alumni, faculty and friends.

Come for the artists you know and love, and stay to discover new talents, enjoy fresh takes on familiar repertoire, and take in the wealth of creativity from the world-class composers and ensembles of our region.
