Spring is the perfect time to hop on a NEMA bike and explore the beautiful sights of San Francisco. With scenic vistas at nearly every turn and more bike lanes being built every day, San Francisco is well-known as a two-wheeled haven for cyclists. Here are a few events, classes, and bike-friendly spots to check out this month during SF Bike Month:

Golden Gate Park: With over 1,000 acres of green space, Golden Gate Park is a prime spot for a leisurely bike ride. Take in the sights of the Japanese Tea Garden, the de Young Museum, and the California Academy of Sciences as you pedal through the park.

Embarcadero: The Embarcadero offers stunning views of the Bay Bridge and the San Francisco Bay. Bike along the waterfront and stop for a bite to eat at the Ferry Building Marketplace or take a break at the Cupid's Span sculpture.

Presidio: The Presidio offers over 24 miles of bike-friendly trails, including the popular Golden Gate Promenade. Take in the sweeping views of the Golden Gate Bridge and the San Francisco Bay as you pedal through this historic military post turned national park.

Mission District: The Mission District is home to vibrant street art, delicious food, and a lively atmosphere. Bike down Valencia Street and stop at the colorful murals in the alleys or grab a bite at one of the many trendy restaurants.

Yerba Buena Gardens: Pedal down to play, dine, shop or just relax. Set amid YBG expansive forested lawn, enjoy classical, world and jazz music, contemporary and traditional dance, theater, and more with Weekend Sessions, Lunchtime Concerts, Poetic Tuesdays, Yoga in the Garden, and more! Grab your bike and plan your visit with the YBG map here.

Mission Dolores Park: Pack a picnic and head to Dolores Park where you’ll find festivals, performances, and other cultural events. On sunny afternoons it’s an ideal place to lounge, picnic, walk a dog, and enjoy spectacular views of the city’s skyline and beyond.

Ocean Beach: Take a ride down the Great Highway and enjoy the ocean views at Ocean Beach. This long stretch of beach offers a peaceful escape from the hustle and bustle of the city.

Marin Headlands: The Marin Headlands is a crown jewel of the Golden Gate National Parks abounding with places of natural wonder and beauty (Rodeo Lagoon/Valley, Gerbode Valley, Hawk Hill, Tennessee Valley) and remarkable historic sites (Point Bonita Lighthouse, Fort Cronkhite, Nike Missile Site, Battery Townsley).
