NEMA San Francisco lands you conveniently close to the action! Here are a few of the many must attend events to get on your social calendar this month:

February 1, Chinese New Year. Celebrating its 20th Anniversary, the Chinese New Year Concert and Banquet is an elegant, colorful celebration of the Lunar New Year with the SF Symphony.

February 1, Basketball Jamboree. The Chinese New Year Basketball Jamboree will kick off the Year of the Rat with some exciting basketball games.

February 2, Martin Luther McCoy's Gospel Brunch. SFJAZZ Collective member Martin Luther McCoy honors the legacy of landmark gospel group The Soul Stirrers and legendary member Sam Cooke.

February 3, Cocktails 101: The Art of Mixing Cocktails. Join Bourbon & Branch to learn how to shake and stir like a true bartender.

February 6, An Evening with Artist Jean Shin. Jean Shin’s installation Pause, commissioned by the Asian Art Museum, is driven by the urgency of the climate crisis.

February 7, San Francisco's Black History Month 2020: Kick-off Celebration. Enjoy remarks from elected officials, empowering entertainment pieces and an inspirational keynote speech – at City Hall.

February 7, Round Pie Guys. The Square Pie Guys are doing some insane round pies with special guest pizza maker Slice of SF.

February 7-16, SF Beer Week. Enjoy hundreds of tasting events, brunches, and dinners.

February 7, 14, 21, 28, Friday Farmers Market & Bazaar in UN Plaza. Grab fresh fruits and veggies, buy gifts from local vendors, and grab lunch at delicious food stalls.

February 8, Macy's Celebrates Lunar New Year with Martin Yan! Partake in a lunar new year-inspired cooking demo with Chef Martin Yan and Chef Tony Wu of M.Y. China.

February 8, Chinese New Year Parade. The San Francisco Chinese New Year Festival and Parade is the largest celebration of its kind in the world.

February 8-9, Chinese New Year Community Street Fair. You will find over 120 booths and concessions making this a shopper’s paradise.

February 8-17, Tulipmania. Brighten up winter with a walk among 39,000 tulips, with or without a guide, at Tulipmania on Pier 39.

February 9, Dumpling Down. Buy Chinese food (bao buns, har gow, shumai, onion pancakes, fried chicken, fresh noodles, fried rice, and egg rolls) during Dumpling Down at SoMa StrEat Food Park.

February 16, Drunk In Love: Galentine's Day Brunch. Call all your divas because we're gonna turn this party out and Pour it Up with fruity sangrias at SoMa StrEat Food Park.

February 20, Culture for Community Free Day. Ten arts and cultural organizations are coming together to offer free admission in celebration of Black History Month.

February 21-23, Pacific Orchid Exposition. Billed as the largest U.S. orchid show, with 150,000 beautiful blooms and offers docent tours, vibrant exhibits, and cultivation tips.
