NEMA San Francisco lands you conveniently close to the action! Here are a few of the many must attend events to get on your social calendar this month:

March 5, Chinese Painting Here, Then and Now. Part of Thursday Nights at the Asian Art Museum. The work of Chang Dai-chien is featured in the exhibition Chang Dai-chien: Painting from Heart to Hand.

March 6, A Midsummer Night's Dream Opening Night Dinner. Join SF Ballet in celebrating the opening night of this timeless masterpiece at a pre-performance dinner.

March 6, 13, 20, 27, Friday Farmers Market & Bazaar in UN Plaza. Grab fresh fruits and veggies, buy gifts from local vendors, and grab lunch at delicious food stalls.

March 7, Hand-Painted Silk Scarf Workshop. Create a one-of-a-kind wearable work of art!

March 7, 14, 21, 28, Figure Drawing at SOMArts. Artists meet every Saturday from 10:30 am–1:30 PM in the upstairs classroom on the left side of the SOMArts.

March 14, St. Patrick’s Day Parade. The fun begins at 11:30am at 2nd Street and Market Street and ends at the Civic Center. The celebration will continue at the Civic Center Plaza with a Festival.

March 20, Nowruz 1399 Gala at SF City Hall. The 15th Anniversary of celebrating Nowruz at City Hall.

March 21, Corn Dog Festival. Enjoy corn dog specials, live music and a costume contest at SoMa StrEat Food Park.

March 21, San Francisco International Chocolate Salon. Taste the finest artisan and gourmet chocolates and confections at the San Francisco County Fair Building.

March 21, American Red Cross Gala. Now in its 26th year, the gala returns to San Francisco’s iconic City Hall for a memorable evening in support of the nation’s largest humanitarian aid organization.

March 21-29, SFUSD Arts Festival. Enjoy student creativity in visual, literary, media, and performing arts, mostly at the Asian Art Museum in the Civic Center.

March 22-April 5, Macy’s Flower Show. See spectacular arrangements of flowers from around the world and attend scheduled events at Macy’s in Union Square.

March 28, ARTBAT + Woralks At the SF MINT. This massive double headliner at one of the most iconic venues in San Francisco is a do-not-miss event.

March 28, Cupcake Decorating Workshop with Kara's Cupcakes. Learn tips and tricks on frosting and topping your very own sea-inspired irresistible treats.

March 29, Fly Higher: Charlie Parker at 100. Alto saxophonist Charlie Parker was one of the definitive innovators of 20th century music. SFJAZZ pays tribute to Bird.
