May 4, Festival Season Kick-Off: Tribute to Charlie Palmieri. The new season of the 2019 Yerba Buena Gardens Festival will open in May and continue through October.
May 4-5, SF International Art Salon. This spectacular display of creativity is a result of years of planning, relentless work and our uncompromising devotion to the fine and performing arts.

May 5-Oct 6, Concerts in the park. Golden Gate Park Band plays a variety of music (classical, marches, opera, swing, and show tunes) at Spreckels Temple of Music in Golden Gate Park.

May 27, Memorial Day celebration. The Memorial Day Ceremony includes a Grand March, speeches and music, followed by a 21-gun salute, and then a picnic with food for sale.
May 29, Food For Thought. Join Mother Jones and Food Tank for an extraordinary evening of conversation about access, affordability, and equity in the food system.
May 31, Traditional Bamboo Workshop. Learn to weave a bamboo basket using traditional techniques in this workshop at the Asian Art Museum with artist Tanabe Chikuunsai IV.
