Must Attend Events in November

November at NEMA and beyond is packed with holiday fun, complete with dance parties, tree lightings, ice skating, gingerbread houses, chocolate, art and more! Here are a few of the many must attend events to get on your social calendar this month:

Jurassic Park Feature Film with the SF Symphony on November 2. This massive blockbuster hit roars to life on the big screen with John Williams’ majestic score performed live by the SF Symphony.

Taste Pinot Noir wine from 90 producers and attend an optional seminar during Pinot Days San Francisco at Bespoke Coworking in Westfield San Francisco Centre on November 3.

For those looking for a family-friendly event, look no further than the free Commons’ 1st Sundays Block Party on November 4 from 11am-3pm.

Celebrate Diwali on November 4 at the Asian Art Museum.

The 13.1 mile Golden Gate Half on November 4 includes scenic views as you run from Aquatic Park across the Golden Gate Bridge. The 5K goes to Crissy Field Marsh and back.

Fall is here and SoMa StrEat Food Park invites you to “naach” the night away in honor of Diwali. Dosas & Samosas: Diwali Dance Party at SoMa StrEat Food Park on November 10.

Open Studios through November 11. Visit up to 800 emerging and established artists in their studios during SF Open Studios, and attend preview and tasting parties on weekdays.

The Chocolate and Art Show on November 15-16 features artists, live body painting, live music, face-painting, and free chocolate at SOMArts Cultural Center for age 21+.

Try and buy wines from up to 100+ wineries during the Vintners Market at City View on November 17-18.

Taste fine artisan and gourmet chocolates and confections at the Fall Chocolate Salon in the San Francisco County Fair Building in Golden Gate Park on November 18.

Stop by the lobby of the Westin St. Francis to admire the St. Francis Holiday Display, featuring two castles with circular towers, individual rooms, and illuminated windows, surrounded by holiday sugar cakes. November 21, 2018 – January 2, 2019.

Illuminate SF Festival of Light features dozens of dramatic glowing art installations in different neighborhoods with lights festivals, guided tours, and self-guided walks. November 22, 2018 – Jan. 1, 2019.

Join the San Francisco Turkey Trot in Golden Gate Park on November 22.

Head to Union Square for the Tree Lighting on November 23, which begins at 5:30 p.m. with singers, a chorus, a gospel choir, and visits from Snoopy and Santa.

See a life-sized Gingerbread House made of thousands of homemade gingerbread bricks and tons of icing and candy in the lobby of the Fairmont San Francisco hotel. November 23, 2018 – January 1, 2019.

Museum Store Sunday on November 25 at the Asian Art Museum. This one-day-only shopping event at museum stores offer meaningful and carefully curated gift options, along with exclusive discounts and pop-up events.
