Fall is just around the corner and NEMA puts you in the center of it all. September in the City brings yoga, block parties, pop-ups, shopping, music, dance, beer tastings, and more to the neighborhood and beyond. Here are a few of the many must attend events to get on your social calendar this month:

September 1, 1st Sundays Block Party. Join the fun on Fulton St at Larkin from 11am- 3pm. Plus, enjoy the Heart of the City Farmers' Market in UN Plaza and visit the Asian Art Museum.

September 1-29, Union Square Live. This is a series of summer concerts and dances that include jazz, blues, folk, Latin, tango, rock, swing, and even Hawaiian.

September 3, First Tuesdays Free Run + Yoga. Be a part of the running, the yoga, or both! Meet at 735 Market Street inside the store for the run at 6:30pm. The yoga session will begin shortly after the group returns to the store from their run.

September 4, Opening Night Gala. From the pre-concert sparkling wine promenade, to the one-of-a-kind concert, to the bombastic after-party, you will be a part of San Francisco history while toasting the arts in style at the SF Symphony.

September 5, Pop-Up Interactive Dance. For 12 weeks, LINES Dance Center is hosting free, 30-minute pop-up interactive dance performances in UN Plaza every Thursday at 1 pm. Thru November 14.

September 6, Metallica & San Francisco Symphony. Metallica & San Francisco Symphony reunite for the 20th anniversary of "S&M" with a one-time-only performance at Chase Center.

September 6, Friday Farmers Market & Bazaar in UN Plaza. This new Friday market will feature local farmers and producers from Heart of the City Farmers Market, who already operate in UN Plaza every Wednesday and Sunday.

September 7, #OnSaturdaysWeTaste: Weekend Wine & Beer Tastings. Weekend Tastings at DECANTsf every Saturday from 1-3pm, lineup changes weekly.

September 7, AvocadoCon. An avo-lanche of green goodness is rolling into SoMa StrEat Food Park at the second annual Avocado Con 🥑 on September 7th.

September 7, Drink the Rainbow Rooftop Concert. Waystone is celebrating everything great about San Francisco including it's diversity, music, and beer during this rooftop concert.

September 8, Opera in the Park. Featuring artists from the fall season of the San Francisco Opera in Robin Williams Meadow at Golden Gate Park.

September 9, YOGA at MoonSchool. Ommm your stress away and break a sweat while doing it in this vinyasa fusion class taught by our Director of Education and certified yoga instructor, Anne Norland.

September 11, Plants & Wine: Terrarium Workshop. Love plants and a good happy hour? You’ll be sipping on wine and making a succulent garden you can take home!

September 12, Bake Sale. Gather your pastry-loving friends and colleagues for Bluestem's second annual Bake Sale where San Francisco’s top pastry chefs will Bake the World a Better Place!

September 14, The Bloody Mary Festival. Includes tastes of creative bloody Marys, craft spirits, artisan food samples, and live music at SOMArts Cultural Center for age 21+.

September 14, SF Cheese Fest. Mingle with 20+ Guild-member cheesemakers from across the state, sampling dozens of new and classic California cheeses.

September 15, Urban Air Market: Hayes Valley Fall. Discover the best in apparel and accessories, home goods, and body products at the final market of the year!

September 17, Agave Spirits - Exploration of Tequila, Mezcal + More. Have a good time as you learn why tequila isn't just for 'shots' and wild times in Tijuana but is indeed one of the world's great spirits.

September 19-21, Balloon Pop. This is a new live concert series curated by Future Archive Recordings.

September 20-22, Greek Food Festival. Enjoy homemade Greek foods like lamb, calamari, gyros, baklava, souvlaki, and wine.

September 21, California Vegetarian Food Festival. Offering speakers, organic cooking demos, fitness activities, a kids’ area, live music, food samples, and meals for sale outdoors.

September 27, Rosé Soirée. Rooftop Rose Soiree at Fairmont San Francisco’s Cirque + Square!

September 28, Brian Blade's Life Cycles at SFJAZZ. GRAMMY-winning drummer and composer Brian Blade presents the West Coast premiere of his new sextet project Life Cycles.

September 28, Sake Day. Think "Oktoberfest" but with sake. Try over 250 imported sakes from Japan that are available in the U.S.

Thru summer, Street Soccer. Open every day from morning until 9pm, the two modular turf fields on Fulton Street are the new spot to play soccer!

Thru October 6, Concerts in the park. Golden Gate Park Band plays a variety of music (classical, marches, opera, swing, and show tunes) at Spreckels Temple of Music in Golden Gate Park.

Thru October 27, Yerba Buena Gardens Festival. Hear music concerts and watch dance performances outdoors.
