September in the neighborhood and beyond brings summer fun and a variety of live entertainment. Here are a few of the many must attend events that are up next this month near NEMA:

September 1, LGBTQ Square Dancing. Try square dancing at the Harvey Milk Center for the Arts.

September 2, Smithereens Tour Presented By Joji. Take in the Japan-born singer and producer Joji at the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium, one of the world’s most enthralling artists.

September 3, Live Music in the Square! Enjoy live music performances at Union Square Park. Bring your friends, family and neighbors, grab some lunch and enjoy live local acts.

September 7, Awakening Yoga. Awaken your mind and body to a new level and learn how to practice meditation in motion at Soul Dimension.

September 8-9, Hiromi. SFJAZZ's 2022-23 Season kicks off with one of the most remarkable pianists of the past half century.

September 10, Union Square Autumn-Moon Celebration. All-day cultural performances, including the walk show of the traditional costume of ancient China, dancing, live band, and other showcases.

September 11, 49ers Watch Party vs The Chicago Bears. Watch party with multiple viewings, food trucks, beer garden & local vendors at District Six.

September 11, Opera in the Park. Whip out your picnic blankets and lawn chairs! Opera in the Park is back for our 100th season, bringing you free music in the great outdoors of Golden Gate Park.

September 13, SuicideBoys at the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium. The energy at their performances is unmatched and sets a vibe that raises goosebumps.

September 15, Sonic Worlds in Collision Dance Party. Enjoy an evening of art, drinks, and dancing in honor of San Francisco artist Carlos Villa at the Asian Art Museum.

September 16, Star Wars: A New Hope. Experience the magic of this intergalactic epic like never before as the SF Symphony performs John Williams’ Oscar®-winning score LIVE to the film on the big screen.

September 16 - October 16, Aunt Jack at New Conservatory Theatre Center. Aunt Jack kicks off the 2022-2023 season. Tickets and more information for Aunt Jack can be found here.

September 17, Makers Market. Located on the second floor of Westfield Mall San Francisco Centre, the Maker's Market is a treat for your eyes, ears, and mind.

September 18, Sketchboard Co. Figure Drawing. Offering uninstructed, unique experiences for all ages, + disciplinary backgrounds.

September 23, Opening Night at SF Symphony. Opening Night includes pre-concert libations, a spirited performance, and post-concert festivities.

September 24, Jazz Jam in the Garden. Enjoy the jazz stylings in the garden, with guest singers sitting in at Hayes Valley Art Works.

September 25, Kikagaku Moyo at The Warfield. The last Bay Area show!

September 25, Eugene Onegin. Emotions run high in Tchaikovsky's drama Eugene Onegin, based on Alexander Pushkin's deeply human story at SF Opera.

September 26, Jaye Edwards Future Proof Color Masterclass. Join Jaye Edwards at Steel + Lacquer as he shares his top tips and techniques, in creating the most aspirational, beautiful colour work.

September 28, Working Men's Club + Snapped Ankles. Popscene @ Rickshaw Stop.

September 30, The Friday Roll Out. Fridays are always a great time to go roller skating. This is a session where kids and families skate along with anyone that's in the mode to get their skate groove on early.
