December 31-January 1, New Year's Eve at the LINE SF. Root out some truffles for dinner at Tenderheart or head up to the canopy — er, the lush rooftop at Rise Over Run — for a twinkling city view.

January 1, Walking Tour. This tour combines the elegance of Billionaire's Row with the architectural wonder that is the Palace of Fine Arts, and much, much more.

January 1-6, Back to the Future. Life in Technicolor at the Jonathan Carver Art Gallery exalts nature and primordial traditions, using saturated, surreal, and vivid hues to evoke the hyper-pigmented virtual worlds that captivate our attention in the digital age.

January 1-15, Union Square Ice Skating. San Francisco’s favorite outdoor rink is back with daily ice skating for all ages and special events scheduled throughout the holiday season.

January 5-7, San Francisco Tape Music Festival 2024. America's only festival devoted to the performance of audio works projected in three-dimensional space, the festival features four distinct concerts of classic audio art and new fixed media compositions by 40 local and international composers.

January 6, Flamenco Fire with Melissa Cruz and Bianca Rodriguez. A mesmerizing evening of exotic flamenco where fire, passion, rhythm, and emotion come to life in a fusion of music and dance at the Herbst.

January 6, Great Cocktails: A First Course in Mixology. Learn the core formulas, tools, and techniques to not only make, but understand, great cocktails, home bartending, and drinking about town.

January 9-14, Chris Botti at SFJAZZ. Botti’s SFJAZZ shows have become a New Year tradition, and always sell out.

January 10, Cooking Class: Dumpling Dinner. Get ready to throw the ultimate dumpling dinner party, making dough from scratch, stuffing dumplings & making sauces in Hayes Valley.

January 13, Harlem Globetrotters 2024 World Tour. Head to Chase Center and take in the Globetrotters as they combine athleticism, theater, and comedy in their style of play.

January 20, Into View: New Voices, New Stories. Celebrate radical new narratives from woman and queer voices with a talk featuring five eminent local artists, preceded by a cross-disciplinary performance by Indonesia-based artist Duto Hardono.

January 27, Run for Donuts Race. Running for donuts is worth the pain. You'll get a run for donuts shirt to show off what you run for. 5K/10K/13.1

January 31, Enrique Iglesias, Pitbull, Ricky Martin: The Trilogy Tour. Global powerhouses Enrique Iglesias, Ricky Martin, and Pitbull have joined forces on “The Trilogy Tour,” a split headline run that channels multiple generations of fans at Chase Center.

Thru February 2024, Takashi Murakami. The Asian Art Museum notes, this is the "first solo exhibition in San Francisco by Takashi Murakami," a renowned artist with recognizable works that appear throughout popular culture and fashion.

Thru March 2024, Middle Ground. From the Exploratorium, Middle Ground returns to Civic Center. Find it at the Larkin Street steps of the Main Branch of the SF Public Library.

Thru May 2024, SF JAZZ 2023-2024 Season. Featuring over 300 concerts, the season is a "continued celebration of the organization's 40th anniversary and 11th at the SFJAZZ Center.

Thru May 2024, SF Symphony 2023-2024 Season. Enjoy a robust calendar of performances.

Thru June 2024, SF Opera 2023-2024 Season. A calendar full of wonderful operas continues with The Elixir of Love (thru December 9) and the special immersive event: The Elixir of Love Encounter (December 1).

Thru summer 2024, Orpheum Theater 2023-2024 Season from BroadwaySF. The season brings the return of award-winning productions like The Lion King (thru December 30) and Wicked (August 2024), along with other great shows like MJ The Musical (January 30-February 25) and Mrs. Doubtfire (July 2-28).

Sunday, Wednesday & Friday. Zumba instructor Matt Ziegler leads classes in Civic Center Plaza (weather permitting) on Sundays, Wednesdays and Fridays with SF Rec & Parks Zumba in the Parks. The class is for all ages and skill levels; meet on the paved portion of the plaza adjacent to City Hall. Free, drop-in. See the schedule here.
