As we wrap up our #NEMABetterTogether contest we would like to thank all of our NEMA residents for their pictures and videos they’ve shared featuring creative ways spent at home. We’ve enjoyed every submission and would like to share a few more winning entries.

@loganmartintran

Working From Home: With WFH becoming the new normal, we appreciate @loganmartintran’s helpful insight and tips from his 4 years of remote work.

1. Dress everyday like it matters. It helps put you in a headspace that you’re not here to lounge, but you’re here to work and make a difference.
2. Work in a clean and organized space. This will help free you from distractions and clear your mind to focus.
3. Put your phone away from where you work, and disable notifications for social networks on your machine.
4. Create small, tangible, goals hourly and reward yourself with something simple after completing an hour of focused and deep work. (Ex: 5 minutes of social media. Coffee refill. Snack)
5. Sometimes separating yourself from work is the best thing you can do for your work. Take necessary breaks to clear your mind, reset your attitude, and realign your focus.

@navarro_studio

Another stunning WFH setting with the best tools for productivity from @navarro_studio. p.s. the NEMA Swell bottle fits right in.

@saftbobes

Stay Pawsitive. @saftbobes reminds us, “We are all apart of the human race (or in my case “dog race”).

Some of our other favorite winning entries with tips include:

Have fun. Remember to breathe and laugh. Chicago resident @kathleen_cohen shared a hilarious original hit with us, COVID-19 Corona Quarantine (Original Song) By: The QuaranTEAM, while @karycatura_ celebrated a milestone birthday!

@karycatura_

Read your way out of quarantine. Whether you start your stack of paperback books or download your digital copy, read a book! Resident @itskiraxo recommends falling in love with fictional characters to pass the time. Resident @shawnalee94 has shared one of her favorite current reads, in case you need a literary recommendation: Break Your Glass Slippers by Amanda Lovelace.

Hone a hobby. Whether it’s a new hobby or favorite past time, utilize your time by creating something. We are quite impressed with our resident contest winner @guinnevere and her inspiring “quarantine quilting” skills!

Furry friends. Spending time with animals can increase feelings of social support and boost your mood. Furry resident @lokimangram tried everything to snag a bite of chorizo-y Huevos Quaran-cheros.

Craft your culinary skills. Baking is a bonus to fill your apartment with comforting scents and the ability to share something wonderful with a neighbor. Resident @__kelsy.cheng makes our mouth water with a British Summer Pudding capture!

Enjoy the view. Centrally located in San Francisco’s dynamic Mid-Market, NEMA apartments present an amazing array of views overlooking the city’s urban landscape from Twin Peaks and the dome of City Hall to the skyline of Financial District and the stunning expanse of the San Francisco Bay. San Francisco’s furry feline @callathewhitecat is reminding us to enjoy the fresh air and take in the views from your balcony. While we’re partial to our SF views, NEMA Chicago has some pretty epic views as well, captured by @eatmelikerome.

NEMA residents may be separated but we are still together. The contest may be over but we would love to see all the many ways you are making the best of your time spent at home on Instagram. Tag us to be featured on our NEMA channels.
